Teilzeit Schweiz collects jobs with a Pensum below full time, plus temporary assignments, from across the country and in every field: a 60 percent bookkeeping role in Bern, a Saturday Aushilfe in a shop, an evening side job waiting tables in Basel, or a placement through a staffing agency in Zurich that starts next Monday. Besides the postings employers add here directly, the board reads public Swiss job sources and company career pages every day.
Set your own employment level
The filter that matters most here is the employment level slider. Drag both ends to the range that fits your week, say 40 to 60 percent, and you see every job whose stated Pensum overlaps it. Keyword, place, canton, employment type, home-office share, industry and company size narrow things further. Sort by newest or by salary, and a saved search emails you new matches.
Student jobs, returning to work, temp work
Students often look for 20 to 40 percent next to lectures, in Zurich, Bern, Basel, Lausanne or St. Gallen. Parents returning after a family break tend to want 50 or 60 percent on fixed days. Temp work in Switzerland usually runs through a staffing agency, which needs a licence to hire out staff, and most agencies fall under the collective agreement for staff leasing (GAV Personalverleih), which sets minimum wages.
Two things are worth knowing with a small Pensum. From 8 hours a week with the same employer you are also insured against accidents in your free time; below that, only at work and on the way there. And on an hourly wage, holiday is often paid as a surcharge: 8.33 percent for four weeks, 10.64 percent for five.
Many people search for the word Minijob. It is a German term for a German scheme with its own earnings cap, and Switzerland has nothing like it. Here a small job is an ordinary employment contract with a small Pensum, and that is exactly what this board lists.
