Das Massnahmenzentrum St. Johannsen is a correctional institution of the Canton of Bern and serves as an open center for the treatment of 80 psychologically distressed or addicted offenders. The measure is intended to help the admitted persons to find a self-responsible and crime-free life.
We are looking for 2 sociotherapists due to internal functional changes within sociotherapy across two residential groups.

Your tasks
With its social-therapeutic work, sociotherapy complements effective perpetrator therapy in lifestyle, daily life, and leisure time. In a team of 7 people, you will care for male offenders who are in a difficult life situation and exhibit special psychological characteristics within the reference person system. In your daily work, cooperation with our internal departments (psychotherapy, work pedagogy, and sociotherapy) as well as external contact persons (probation and execution services, social services, etc.) is an important component. You can also expect various administrative tasks.

Your profile
You have a recognized degree in Social Work, Social Pedagogy, Pedagogy, or Psychology. You are a flexible, team-oriented, resilient, and steadfast personality who possesses high social competence, good ability to set boundaries (closeness/distance) and assertiveness, and who takes responsibility in daily work. You prefer irregular working hours (incl. weekends, on-call duty; no night shifts). Furthermore, you have very good editorial skills, bring good MS Office knowledge, and are willing to familiarize yourself with new programs. You are a native German speaker and bring good French language skills.

About the Amt für Justizvollzug
The Amt für Justizvollzug (AJV) is responsible for the open and closed penal and measure execution for adults and adolescents with around 1000 employees within the Security Directorate of the Canton of Bern (SID). To fulfill this task, the office has four concordat correctional institutions, four regional prisons, the guarding station at the Inselspital, the detention management center, as well as the probation and execution services at its disposal.
