Social Worker Child Protection temporary, 60-100 %

Through their work in the five social centers, the Social Services ensure that the people in the city of Zürich can rely on effective basic social provision.

For our team in the Sozialzentrum Selnau, we are looking for motivated personalities as assistants for a temporary employment of 6-12 months, starting immediately or by arrangement.

Tasks ##

• You conduct civil law mandates in child protection and accompany children, adolescents, and their families in demanding life situations.
• You will be supported administratively by clerks, can draw on the knowledge of internal specialist departments, and work closely with your colleagues in the team.
• You will take over legal guardianship in a deputy capacity with different core areas of responsibility, including in complex family situations as well as with questions regarding visitation and contact rights.
• You shape the cooperation with children, parents, specialist departments, authorities, and other involved persons in a solution-oriented and professional manner.
• You grasp complex situations, develop viable solutions, and represent the interests and well-being of the children and adolescents under legal guardianship.
• You document your work traceably in a case management system and ensure careful mandate management.

Profile ##

• University of Applied Sciences degree in Social Work
• Professional experience in managing civil law mandates, ideally in child protection
• Experience in dealing with complex family situations and different stakeholder groups
• Rapid grasping of complex situations, high personal responsibility, and the ability to act professionally and solution-oriented even in challenging situations
• Good communication skills and negotiation skills
• Interest in additional professional or organizational responsibility is an advantage; possibility to take over the deputy role for the management
