Das Gymnasium Thun mit Fachmittelschule employs around 170 teachers and 15 employees. Around 1'400 students are taught in the currently 64 classes. Thus, Gymnasium Thun is one of the largest secondary schools in the Canton of Bern.

As of 1 February 2027, we are looking for an assistant for the subject areas Biology and Chemistry. You will support the main responsible assistant in her tasks.

Your tasks

As of 1 March 2027, new premises with modern infrastructure will be occupied in the areas of Biology and Chemistry. In the first few weeks, the focus will therefore be on the move to the new premises and the setting up. Afterwards, the following tasks will be at the center of the activity:

• Preparation and testing of teaching experiments
• Supervision and maintenance of the collection, technical and optical devices
• Compliance with safety and hazardous substance regulations
• Cleaning and maintenance of glassware and other material
• Provision and care of the animals and maintenance of the aquariums and terrariums
• Checking and supplementing the laboratory materials and equipment of the classrooms

Your profile

• Laborant:in EFZ specialization Chemistry and / or Biology
• Careful and reliable way of working
• Technical understanding and interest in natural sciences
• Teamwork skills and enjoyment in dealing with teachers and young people
• If possible, experience in the school laboratory
• Category B driver's license is an advantage
