The five regional youth prosecution offices investigate and assess offenses committed by youths between ten and eighteen years of age. They conduct criminal investigations and are responsible for the enforcement of juvenile criminal law protective measures and penalties.

For the Jugendanwaltschaft Winterthur, we are looking for an open-minded, flexible, analytically thinking Youth Prosecutor 80% starting 1 January 2027 or by arrangement.

These tasks await you: ###

• You conduct and complete criminal investigations against youths, draft orders to discontinue proceedings as well as orders of non-prosecution, and represent the prosecution before the youth court.
• Within the framework of criminal proceedings, you exercise single-judge functions (issuance of summary penalties).
• In cooperation with social workers, you clarify the need for measures and enforce juvenile criminal law judgments and decisions, including protective measures.
• You are prepared to perform regular on-call duty (incl. night and weekend).

This characterizes you: ###

• You have a completed Master's degree in law and, advantageously, have obtained the attorney's license.
• You have many years of experience in criminal justice as well as sound knowledge in the field of juvenile criminal law.
• Your experience in pedagogy and youth welfare (advantageous) and your broad life experience allow you to interact with youths in a confident and professional manner.
• Your strengths include your resilience and decision-making ability, your assertiveness, and a human-oriented nature.
• Thanks to your strong communication skills, you can represent your opinion clearly, but you also integrate well into an interdisciplinary team.
• You are characterized by flexibility, are willing to learn, resilient, and digitally savvy.
