The Emmental administrative district is characterized by a rural environment with lively communities. The range of construction projects extends from traditional village centers to modern infrastructure projects, creating a diverse and exciting working environment. In this versatile role, you will support the management of civil engineering, process demanding construction projects, and contribute to efficient and citizen-oriented task fulfillment with your service-oriented way of working.

Your tasks

• Review building applications and independently conduct building permit procedures
• Planning and management of settlement and instruction negotiations, inspections, as well as reconciliation talks
• Drafting procedure-leading decrees and overall construction decisions - advising and supporting third parties within and outside the cantonal administration
• Deputizing for the management of the Civil Engineering Department with the possibility of taking over the department management from summer 2028

Your profile

• Training as a Bernese building administrator, degree at Bachelor level or at a higher technical college HF with function-specific further training or legal training
• Several years of professional experience in the building permit system and very good knowledge of construction law
• Leadership experience is an advantage
• Resilience and assertiveness, customer-oriented conduct with confident expression in spoken and written language
