The Department for Education, Culture and Sport (DBKS) of the Canton Solothurn includes the Office for Primary Education, the Office for Vocational Training, Middle and Higher Education, the Office for Culture and Sport, as well as the Department Secretariat. Located within the Department Secretariat is the central competence and contact point for communication, which advises and supports the Head of Department, the Department Secretary, and the Heads of Offices in all communication tasks. For the Communication department, we are looking for a Communications Officer, 60-80%, per or by arrangement at the Solothurn location.

Your responsibility
In your role, you design, plan, and coordinate internal and external communication or public relations in the DBKS.
You write or edit various texts and communication content both for daily business as well as for special and demanding situations.
As the central contact person for media professionals, you coordinate or write press releases, statements, and media inquiries.
In close cooperation with the Department Secretary and the offices, you manage the department's internal electronic communication channel.
You plan, develop, and maintain modern communication concepts and processes and develop contemporary media strategies.

Your profile
You have a degree from a university of applied sciences or university in the field of communication, ideally supplemented by further training in the field of PR, communication management, or journalism. In addition, you have several years of professional experience in corporate communications or journalism.
You are characterized by excellent editorial skills as well as a stylistically confident way of expressing yourself in German, both written and spoken, which you use profitably in both analog and digital formats such as the internet and social media.
You work independently and in a structured manner with a view to the essentials. You also formulate complex or sensitive content in an understandable, target-group-oriented, situation-adapted, and appealing manner. In a forward-looking and goal-oriented way, you drive projects forward with high implementation power and the necessary flexibility.
A respectful manner, teamwork, and discretion characterize your personality.
You possess knowledge and pronounced skills for rapid and flexible reaction in everyday life and in crisis situations (oral and written).
