Die Organisation der Arbeitswelt Soziales Kanton Bern informs about professions in the social sector and is the contact person for employers, vocational trainers, apprentices, interested parties and authorities. It is particularly responsible for the basic vocational training of Fachfrau/Fachmann Betreuung (FaBe EFZ), Assistentin/Assistent Gesundheit und Soziales (AGS EBA) as well as for the training at the Höhere Fachschule in the social sector.

Head of Office (70 - 80%)

per immediately or by arrangement

The office is responsible and accountable on behalf of the board for the organization, coordination and implementation of vocational training, vocationally oriented further training as well as for training issues in higher vocational education in the social sector.

Your tasks:

• Operative and strategic management of the office on behalf of the board
• Preparation of board meetings and implementation of decisions and projects
• Leadership and further development of employees
• Responsibility for an efficient and demand-oriented business operation
• Ensuring the quality and coordination of offers and services
• Responsibility for budget, controlling as well as cooperation with external partners in the areas of finance and administration
• Maintenance and expansion of a broad network with authorities, professional associations, educational institutions and practical businesses
• Representation of the OdA Soziales Bern in specialist committees, commissions and working groups
• Responsibility for communication, vocational marketing and events
• Participation in the further development of vocational training in the social sector and in educational policy issues
• Support and information regarding higher vocational education in the social sector, particularly in the field of Sozial- und Kindheitspädagogik HF

Your profile:

• Several years of leadership experience in a comparable function
• Completed leadership training at the level of Höhere Fachprüfung, Höhere Fachschule or comparable qualification
• Sound knowledge of the social sector and a good understanding of vocational training in Switzerland
• Proven business administration competencies
• Strategic thinking ability, organizational skills and high level of independence
• Resilient personality with the ability to set priorities and coordinate different stakeholder groups
• Convincing communication and presentation skills
• Cooperative, solution-oriented and appreciative way of working according to our guiding principle: «Ernstnehmen, verstehen und zutrauen.»
• You have good written and oral expression skills in German
