Focus on Special Support and Special Schooling

Your responsibility

• As part of the Main Department for Special Education team, you will further develop the areas of Special Support, Special Schooling, and intercultural pedagogy in the canton of Basel-Landschaft and work on the quality assurance of their implementation
• In this context, you will actively participate in projects and develop sustainable concepts
• You will support and advise teachers, school managements, and school boards professionally and in a solution-oriented manner with your specialist expertise
• You will lead specialist conventions, plan network meetings as well as conferences, and conduct them
• You will issue decisions and permits for integrative special schooling
• You will process political matters (statements, petitions, etc.) competently and reliably
• You will work openly and confidently with other departments and external partners

Your background

• You have a university or university of applied sciences degree (MA) in the field of special education, social pedagogy, educational science, or psychology
• You have several years of professional experience in the regular school sector (integrative / separative) and/or in special schooling
• You are experienced in leading different negotiating partners to a good solution and possess the corresponding tact
• You have an interest in educational policy issues and in-depth knowledge of school structures and educational content
• You value working in a team and work together constructively and efficiently
• You communicate confidently and sovereignly in speech and writing

Amt für Volksschulen

The Amt für Volksschulen (AVS) is the cantonal authority for public schools. It is specifically responsible for school operational, pedagogical, and special education matters, as well as for the management of supervision, quality, development, operation, and further training of the public school system with a view to optimal support, coordination, and further development of the public school system at the cantonal level, as well as school psychological counseling for all school levels.
