Your tasks

In a team with experienced colleagues, you will independently handle diverse child and adolescent psychological issues.

Your main tasks include the psychological assessment of children and adolescents and their educational, school and/or social environment, the counseling of families, caregivers, educational officials and authorities, as well as the psychotherapeutic treatment of children, adolescents and families.

As part of your expert activities, you will also prepare expert opinions and reports for courts and child protection authorities.

You consider commitment to internal and/or cantonal specialist groups to be a matter of course.

Your profile

We are looking for an initiative and flexible personality who enjoys working both in a team and independently. You are characterized by psychological resilience and good communication skills.

You hold a university degree (Master) in psychology as well as a diploma for educational counseling-school psychology from the Canton of Bern or an equivalent qualification. Knowledge of the Bernese school and education system is an advantage.

You are interested in questions of cultural and school integration.

The Office for Kindergarten, Public School and Counseling of the Directorate of Education and Culture manages the areas of kindergarten and public school, the cantonal educational counseling as well as the recognized music schools and the school supervision of the German and French-speaking parts of the canton.

The cantonal educational counseling supports and advises parents, children and adolescents as well as all persons and institutions tasked with the education and schooling of children and adolescents regarding questions and difficulties in the development, upbringing and schooling of children and adolescents from toddler age to the end of education at the secondary level II.
