Space Eye Guide and Event Manager (50-60%)

At Space Eye, we make science experiential. As a modern observatory and experience center in the Bern region, we inspire people of all ages for astronomy, environment, and innovation, with an 8K planetarium, the largest publicly accessible telescope in Switzerland, and versatile educational and experience offerings. For the execution of group visits in German and French as well as for the coordination of our events, we are looking for an engaged and versatile personality with great enthusiasm for astronomy starting January 2027 or by arrangement.

Space Eye Guide and Event Manager (50-60%)

As a Space Eye Guide, you will independently or together with other guides lead groups through Space Eye. You convey knowledge about the universe and our environment and make the topics in the exhibition, at the telescope, and in the planetarium experiential for our guests.

As an Event Manager, you take responsibility in the preparation and execution of events. You coordinate the processes on-site, maintain an overview even in hectic situations, and ensure that our guests feel well cared for in every respect. This also includes smaller catering and service tasks.

• Training or a degree in the field of astronomy is not mandatory. More important are your personal enthusiasm and fascination for the universe. Astronomical prior knowledge is an advantage.
• You enjoy conveying astronomical and scientific content understandably and enthusiastically to different age groups.
• You are interested in technical systems and software and enjoy working your way into new systems.
• You communicate confidently in German and French.
• Readiness for irregular work assignments on weekends, evenings, or holidays. Winter is the main season of the Space Eye observatory.
• Driver's license category B, own vehicle is an advantage
