As an independent quasi-judicial specialist authority, the Kindes- und Erwachsenenschutzbehörde Uri (KESB) implements civil law child and adult protection for the entire canton of Uri and makes the necessary decisions of first instance. Tasks ###

• Independent conduct of the assigned KESB proceedings
• Carrying out own investigations and issuing orders for investigations and expert opinions
• Personal hearing of the affected persons and other involved persons and institutions
• Issuance of procedural orders and ordering of precautionary measures
• Where provided by law, issuance of decisions in individual jurisdiction
• Submission of motions to the collective authority in the assigned proceedings and participation in all collegial decisions of the KESB
• Monitoring and controlling existing child and adult protection measures (acceptance of reports)
• Member of the authority management
• Participation in the further development of the KESB legal practice
• Cooperation with specialist agencies, municipalities and institutions
• Participation in the case-independent public relations work of the KESB

Requirements ###

• University degree or other recognized tertiary degree in social work, medicine, law, psychology or related fields
• Established personality with life experience and several years of professional experience
• Knowledge of the legal foundations in the area of child and adult protection law and additional training or experience in this area
• Knowledge of the principles of administrative procedural law and understanding of the processes in public administrations and authorities
• High empathy towards people in difficult life situations and competence in dealing with them
• Enjoyment of interdisciplinary and networked cooperation as well as teamwork skills
• Flexibility, high resilience, negotiation skills and decisiveness
• Good communication skills and a confident appearance
• A well-measured portion of humor, in order to be able to master the demanding daily work routine with ease time and again in this field of work
• Driver's license category B
