Das Heilpädagogische Zentrum Hohenrain is a competence center for the training, promotion, and support of around 200 children and adolescents in the areas of cognitive development and language development in instruction, social pedagogy, and therapy from the foundation level up to the age of 18 years. Around 300 employees from different professions in the areas of instruction, social pedagogy, therapy, care, housekeeping, technical services, and administration contribute to this.

At HPZH, we promote students with impairments in small, mixed-age classes, from Cycle 1 to Cycle 3. As Head of Department, you will actively shape everyday school life and set impulses for a future in which individual learning and therapy go hand in hand.

Your tasks

• As Head of Department, you are responsible for Cycle 2 in our special school for children and adolescents with cognitive impairments.
• In close cooperation with the division management and the other heads of department, you lay the foundations for the academic development of our students.
• Organizationally, the threads come together with you: You plan the assignments and workloads of your team, carry out class assignments, review educational and support plans, implement internal training, and thus ensure smooth everyday school life.
• You lead your team of teachers, special education teachers, class assistants, and interns both professionally and personally with empathy and promote their individual further development.
• You promote interdisciplinary cooperation between instruction, therapy, and social pedagogy and stand by your team in a consulting and supporting capacity during everyday school life.

Your profile

• You have completed pedagogical training (teaching diploma and/or Master in Special Needs Education).
• Ideally, you already possess further training in the field of school management (CAS, DAS) or are willing to complete this.
• You have already been able to gain sound professional as well as initial leadership experience in a special education environment.
• You are an organizational talent with good IT skills, characterized by high social competence and strong communication skills.
• Our interdisciplinary team looks forward to your participatory leadership style and your positive mindset.
