With a view to the retirement of the current position holder, we are looking for the Regional Prison Biel from 1 December 2026 or by arrangement

Your tasks

• Pastoral care and accompaniment of admitted persons regardless of their denominational or religious affiliation
• Design of religious services and rituals
• Support for employees in stressful situations

Your profile

• completed university degree in theology
• professional introduction in the Diocese of Basel and professional experience for Catholic applications
• ordination for Reformed applications
• additional qualification <<Seelsorge im Straf- und Massnahmenvollzug>> or willingness to complete this promptly
• multilingualism (English, French, Italian, if possible Spanish)
• high resilience, ability to work in a team, social competence and independence

About the Office for Correctional Services

The Office for Correctional Services (AJV) is responsible for open and closed penal and measures execution for adults and young people within the Security Directorate of the Canton of Bern (SID) with around 1000 employees. To fulfill this task, the office has at its disposal four concordat correctional institutions, four regional prisons, the guarding station at the Inselspital, the detention management center, as well as probation and execution services.
