Schule Manuel is a managed neighborhood school (school district Kirchenfeld-Schosshalde) of the city of Bern. From summer 2026, the school will run 46 classes from kindergarten to the 9th school year with approx. 900 children and adolescents and 130 employees. The Manuel school location includes the Manuel school complex, the Wittigkofen schoolhouse, the Elfenau neighborhood schoolhouse, the Kirchenfeld all-day basic level, as well as day care.

Tasks ###

As a substitute class teacher in a 3rd grade, you will teach the subjects NMG, Mathematics, French, BG, BS, German for a total of 18 lessons. Additionally, you will engage with one further hour in team teaching in the same class. With joy, high professional competence, and perceptible commitment, you design varied, motivating lessons. You attentively accompany the students in their personal and academic development and create learning spaces in which curiosity, trust, and joy of learning can grow. Close, appreciative cooperation with subject teachers as well as with parents is a matter of course for you and is experienced by you as an enrichment. With openness and creativity, you actively contribute to school life, participate in projects and events, and contribute with commitment to the further development of our school.

Requirements ###

You possess a seminarist primary teaching diploma or a Bachelor's degree for the primary level and ideally bring experience in Cycle 2. You are enthusiastic about the teaching profession, possess pedagogical skill, and work with joy and commitment with children. As a committed, communicative, and resilient personality, you consistently place the students at the center of your actions. You value teamwork and professional exchange and contribute actively and constructively to the faculty. Furthermore, you show readiness for active participation in school life, especially in the mandatory conferences on Monday from 16:45 to 18:00.
