Focus on Special Support and Special Needs Education
Your responsibility
As part of the Special Needs Education main department team, you will further develop the areas of Special Support, Special Needs Education and intercultural pedagogy in the Canton of Basel-Landschaft and work on the quality assurance of their implementation
In this context, you will actively participate in projects and develop future-oriented concepts
You support and advise teachers, school management and school boards with your professional expertise in a professional and solution-oriented manner
You lead specialist conventions, plan network meetings as well as conferences and conduct them
You issue decisions and permits for integrative special needs education
You process political matters (statements, petitions etc.) competently and reliably
You work in an open-minded and confident manner with other departments and external partners
Your background
You have a university or university of applied sciences degree (MA) in the field of special education, social pedagogy, educational science or psychology
You have several years of professional experience in the regular school sector (integrative / separative) and/or in special needs education
You are experienced in leading different negotiating partners to a good solution and possess the corresponding tact
You have an interest in educational policy issues and in-depth knowledge of school structures and educational content
You value working in a team and work together constructively and efficiently
You communicate confidently and sovereignly in speech and writing

The Amt für Volksschulen (AVS) is the cantonal authority for public schools. It is particularly responsible for school operational, pedagogical, special needs education matters as well as for the management of supervision, quality, development, operation and further training of the public school with a view to optimal support, coordination and further development of the public school at the cantonal level as well as school psychological counseling for all school levels.
