As the largest social enterprise in the Basel area, we at BSB (Bürgerspital Basel) with around 1'600 employees offer meaningful work, self-determined living, as well as comprehensive nursing and care.

The Integration business area of the BSB, on behalf of the Volksschule Basel-Stadt, manages a small class of five to six students with a cognitive impairment and special educational needs. The students have completed their compulsory schooling and are supported by the IV. The goal of the two-year offering is preparation for a supervised daily activity program or an adapted workplace. The weekly teaching time includes 25 lessons.

Your mission

In this exciting area of responsibility, you will support the responsible teacher in everyday school life and contribute to the individual promotion of the students. You will accompany the young people both in lessons and in care situations and actively implement promotion goals and learning offers. With commitment, you will shape a structured and appreciative learning environment, provide materials according to the individual needs of the students, and document their development.

Your profile

• Completed training as a Fachperson Betreuung EFZ or an equivalent agogic/pedagogical qualification
• Professional experience with young people with support needs
• Flexibility regarding the workload (up to 90%, to compensate for the 14 weeks of school holidays)
• Empathy, patience, and joy in working in a school context
• Structured and responsible way of working
• Good German language skills in speaking and writing.
