SBD.bibliotheksservice ag is an important partner for libraries in Switzerland. We combine physical and digital media with diverse services and future-oriented solutions. Quality, reliability, and continuous development are central to our company with around 40 employees, we are looking for a technically skilled personality with several years of experience in finance and accounting, who is ready to take on the responsibility for the finances of our SME. In this role, you report directly to the Managing Director.

Your tasks

You are responsible for the entire financial management without a leadership function and ensure a smooth process from operational accounting to the annual financial statements, budget, controlling, and reporting. Your versatile area of responsibility includes:

• Independent management of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial accounting including payment transactions and VAT returns
• Preparation of monthly closing statements including forecasts and reporting
• Preparation of annual financial statements including tax returns
• Payroll accounting including payroll processing and reconciliations with social insurance providers
• Preparation of budgets in cooperation with the management
• Controlling and cost center accounting including contribution margin calculations
• Liquidity planning and calculations
• Participation in cross-departmental projects

What you bring with you

You enjoy working operationally, think entrepreneurially, and recognize potential for optimizing processes. At the same time, you see yourself as a competent sparring partner for the management. Experience in a comparable overall responsibility is an advantage, but not a requirement.

• Sound knowledge in finance and accounting, ideally supplemented by further training as a specialist in finance and accounting or a comparable qualification
• Several years of practical experience in finance and accounting, at least 5 years, including responsibility for closing statements
• A structured, exact, and independent way of working as well as a pragmatic and solution-oriented attitude
• Digital affinity and enjoyment in further developing and making existing processes more efficient
• An open and team-oriented personality who enjoys working across departments and actively contributes to the further development of SBD
• Confident handling of common work instruments and financial systems, especially Excel and ERP systems; knowledge of BI tools and Abacus is an advantage
