Basel Tourismus -- Making the cultural city on the Rhine experiential together! With a dedicated team of around 50 employees, we are committed to the tourism marketing of Basel and welcome guests from all over the world. To complement our team, we are looking for a Sustainability Manager, 60–80 % (m/w/d) starting in January 2027 or by arrangement. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a dedicated, proactive, and communicative personality who enjoys actively helping to shape the sustainable development of our tourism destination. At the center of your task is the co-design, further development, and implementation of our sustainability initiative: You develop your own ideas, drive projects forward, support our members and local partners, and contribute to further developing Basel as a sustainable destination. Your tasks * Co-design, further development, and implementation of the sustainability initiative of Basel Tourismus. * Contact point for internal and external questions regarding sustainability in tourism as well as support in the integration of sustainability aspects into projects and decisions. * Coordination and support of the sustainability activities of our members and partners. * Acquisition and support of tourism businesses for the sustainability program Swisstainable. * Coordination and preparation of data and proofs for sustainability rankings, certifications, and re-certifications. * Development of sustainable products and offers together with local partners. * Collaboration on projects and measures to promote tourism acceptance in Basel. * Planning and implementation of exchange formats for networking and knowledge transfer. Your profile * You have a business administration education at a tourism specialist school, university of applied sciences, or university and already bring experience in the field of sustainability. * You bring experience in project management and want to further develop yourself in sustainable tourism. * You can convey sustainability topics in an understandable and inspiring way and ideally bring knowledge in marketing communication. * You approach people openly and enjoy working across teams and with external partners. * You work in a structured, independent, and reliable manner and contribute your own ideas. * You have very good German skills and good English skills.
