The PHBern awards around 800 teaching diplomas per year and is thus one of the large Pedagogical Universities of Switzerland. Equally significant is its commitment to continuing education and to services for teachers and school leaders, as well as its profession-related research, development, and evaluation.

The Institut Sekundarstufe II trains teachers for teaching at Gymnasien, Fachmittelschulen, and Berufsmaturitätsschulen. In doing so, students are supported in their professional development and trained in teaching and in their work in the school institution. The content of the studies includes the three areas of Educational and Social Sciences, Subject Didactics, and Vocational Practical Training.

In Educational and Social Sciences, students acquire competencies in the areas of didactics, pedagogy, psychology, educational policy, as well as information and communication technologies, and establish the connection to teaching.

Your tasks

• Developing and conducting learning opportunities in the module ESW2 in cooperation with lecturers of Digitality (from FS 2027)
• Designing learning opportunities in the module ESW1 "Grundlagen der Didaktik" (from SJ 2027/2028)
• Advising and assessing students in the area of ESW
• Accompanying students in the introductory internship
• Active participation in institute events
• Collaboration in the further development of the Sek. II study program
• Upon request: Taking over learning offers in the area "Integration und Erweiterung"

Your profile

• Doctorate in Educational Sciences, Pedagogy, or Psychology
• Teaching diploma for Maturitätsschulen
• Several years of teaching experience at the target level
• Expertise in areas relevant to the tasks
• Higher education didactic training or teaching experience at tertiary level
• Research experience desired
• High commitment, independence, and ability to work in a team
