Do you want to accompany people with mental illnesses holistically and include social, professional and personal areas of life in the process? In the outpatient clinic of Psychiatrie Biel, a versatile and bilingual working environment awaits you, in which you can specifically contribute your social work expertise. Our interprofessional team offers competent, timely and individual psychiatric treatment and accompanies people with a wide spectrum of mental illnesses.
As part of the outpatient services of the UPZ, you will work closely with specialists from medicine, psychology and nursing as well as with private practitioners and external partner organizations. You support our patients with social, financial, legal and professional issues and develop concrete perspectives for their everyday lives together with them. In doing so, varied tasks, a lot of personal responsibility and the opportunity to sustainably strengthen people even in challenging life situations await you.

Your tasks

• You plan and coordinate support measures in the core areas of work, living, budget, law as well as in the migration sector and implement them
• You offer psychosocial counseling in acute crises, in cooperation with the outpatient treatment team
• You support our patients particularly in social insurance law questions
• In your professional everyday life, you work closely with authorities (e.g. the Adult and Child Protection Authority and social services) as well as legal and specialist services (e.g. counseling centers, outpatient services)
• You contribute your valuable experience in psychosocial counseling and actively participate in the compliance and optimization of our high quality standards
• You accompany our patients individually and process-oriented
• You receive the opportunity to network with social institutions, institutions and organizations (e.g. in the protected living and working area)
• You work in an interprofessional team consisting of doctors, psychologists, nursing specialists and secretariat

Your profile

• You have a university of applied sciences degree / Bachelor in social work
• You possess extensive social law knowledge, but also medical-psychiatric oriented knowledge
• You are characterized by counseling skills and experience
• Additional qualification in social insurance law and further training in systemic counseling are a big plus
• You are open, resilient and reliable with a good dose of humor
• You have strong organizational talent
• Ideally, you already have experience in psychiatry
• You have good oral knowledge of the German and French languages
