Welcome to Aarwangen! The Aarwangen school is located in Oberaargau in the agglomeration of Langenthal. We see ourselves as an integrative school. Around 540 children are taught in 27 mixed-age classes, five of which are kindergarten classes. Our school is led by a supportive school management team. The cooperation between teachers is highly appreciated by everyone. All classes are supported by special education teachers and DaZ (German as a second language) teachers. In the Sonnhalde school complex, there are three school buildings, two kindergartens, the day school, the sports facilities, the swimming pool with a teaching pool, and the assembly hall. Three more kindergartens are distributed throughout the village. From the 2027/28 school year, we will additionally run a basic level class in the Ost school building.

Tasks ###

You will teach in a team in the newly opened basic level class with a weekly workload of 14-16 lessons. The basic level team works closely with our specialist teachers (IF, DaZ, speech therapy). The function of the class teacher is shared within the team. Together with your job partner, you will set up the new basic level rooms, jointly design the timetable, and adapt the internal concept. Additionally, the class team will be accompanied by PH Bern for the induction.

Requirements ###

You hold a corresponding level diploma or will complete it soon. Preferably, you will complement the basic level team with your professional experience at the 1st/2nd grade level or in a basic level. You are a conscientious, communicative, committed, and resilient personality and are accustomed to dealing with children, teachers, and parents. You enjoy teaching in a team and are interested in the basic level model.
