Stiftung Lerchenbühl is a socio-economic, politically and confessionally neutral foundation based in Burgdorf. With a comprehensive coaching, education and residential offering, we accompany and support children, adolescents and young adults with special needs in their start into the future. The goal is as self-determined and sustainable a life and career design as possible. The focus of our work is school, vocational and social inclusion. We are looking for support for 2 students on the autism spectrum in a 1:1 setting in the upper secondary level of our special public school. Total 15 lessons with the option to extend the assignment.

Tasks ###

We are looking for a dedicated and empathetic personality for the individual support of 2 students on the autism spectrum in a 1:1 setting in the upper secondary level. At the beginning, the setting takes place outreach-based in the home environment and is oriented towards the needs and resources of the children. At the center of the task are the building of a sustainable relationship and the joint design of a reliable daily structure. You plan and accompany activities, create security and enable the student to participate as well as have positive experiences of success in everyday life. In addition, you support the students in developing independence and in learning strategies for stress reduction and for communicating their own needs.

Requirements ###

You have training or experience in the socio-pedagogical, special education or school sector and bring interest or experience in working with children on the autism spectrum. You encounter children with patience, empathy and appreciation and know how to build sustainable relationships and convey security. A structured, independent and reflective way of working characterizes you as much as resilience and certainty of action in challenging situations. You enjoy working interdisciplinary, communicate openly and value cooperation with teachers, specialist agencies and parents. In addition, you bring good observation and documentation skills, act in a resource-oriented and flexible manner and are willing to work outreach-based in the home environment.
