HOST Oyster Stand

MADWorks GmbH operates the oyster stand under the name Merlins Oysters. We are a small team with a great passion for oysters and wine.

We serve oysters from various regions of Europe along with classic wines and sparkling wines. We want to inspire you with exactly this topic - so that you can take our guests on this culinary journey.

You are the host and contact person on site - for your team, for the operator of the Christmas market and for us.

The opening of the oysters is handled by our Écailler. You do not need to know how to do this, but you should know what you are talking about: which variety comes from where, how it tastes and why the cold chain matters. We will teach you this in a paid training session.

Your tasks:

• Responsibility at the stand – you are the first point of contact for questions, for guests as well as for the operator
• Cash register and collection: daily closing and handover. We work cashless
• Advising guests on wine and champagne, matching the oysters (paid training)
• Oyster knowledge: varieties, origin, storage, cold chain (paid training)
• Maintain hygiene and cold chain, carry out temperature control and daily logs
• Setup and dismantling of the stand with the team
• Orders and inventory in cooperation with us
• Communication with us and the operator, reporting of incidents and delivery problems

What you bring with you:

• Experience in gastronomy, ideally with responsibility for a team or a shift
• Experience in cash register and collection
• Interest in beverages, wine knowledge is a plus
• Desire to get to know oysters and bring them closer to guests
• Resilience for evening shifts, weekends and cold outdoors
• Good German and English skills - French is expressly desired
• Valid work permit for Switzerland
